Welcome to Our Story

Collective Perspective began as a passion project among friends who, as students noticed a glaring lack of inclusivity, among other things, within the university space. We wanted to do more than just highlight this issue; we sought to create awareness around perceptions, labelling, diversity and inclusivity. Our initiative, Waves of Colour, was born out of our desire to set up a safe and inclusive space for students who didn’t fit the traditional Dutch norm.

What started as a studetnt initiative has now evolved into Collective Perspective. Central to our approach is the philosophy of Ubuntu, a Nguni Bantu term that means “I am because we are”. Ubuntu emphasises the interconnectedness of people, reflecting the core values of empathy, respect and community. Our existence is woven with threads of diversity and this consultancy is dedicated to helping organisations transition to more inclusive environements. As the face of the Dutch workforce continues to evolve the need for inclusive and equitable workplace culture and practices is more important than ever.

Our Mission

At Collective Perspective, we believe in creating workplaces where everyone feels valued and included. This calls to mind the values espoused in the ethos of Ubuntu, for we belong in a bundle of life. It says: I am human because I belong, I participate, and I share.”

Guided by the principle of Ubuntu, we create and hold space for essential yet challenging conversations centred around diversity, descrimination and racism. We support a journey from awareness to actionable change in both policy and practice.

Our mission is to help organisations cultivate impactful cross-cultural relations and embrace ubuntu by fostering inclusive environments that celebrate diverse perspectives.

Ubuntu is very difficult to render into a Western language... It is to say, ‘My humanity is caught up, is inextricably bound up, in what is yours.
— Desmond Tutu
